Top 10 products for dry, chapped lips

Happy Tuesday all! Hope your weeks been great so far :)

Anywho, I was walking Bernard this evening and after an hour wandering round the park in the cold my lips felt horrible! They really don’t agree with this miserable weather at all and are constantly dry, chapped and really uncomfortable

Extremely dry lips seem to run in my family. I called into my mums a few days ago and my brothers lips were so dry and broken that he had resorted to a big slick of Bepanthen – yep, the nappy rash cream - on and around his lips (it’s the only thing that’s actually worked for him in the past!)

These are my top 10 products for keeping lips looking and feeling tip top over winter but feel free to leave a comment if you have a particular favourite that I havent mentioned because I’m always on the lookout for awesome new products ♥

10th - Clinique superbalm lip treatment

9th – The Body Shop vitamin E lip care

8th – Dermalogica lip treatment

7th – AVON botanicals naturally glossy lip conditioner

6th – Flexitol lip balm

5th – Burts Bees replenishing lip balm with pomegranate oil

4th – Softlips vitamin enriched lip conditioner

3rd – Carmex moisturising lip balm (my fave is the cherry one cos it smells scrummy)

2nd – Rose & Co Apothecary; beeswax lip salve with honey and vanilla

1st – Vaseline lip therapy tins

Nice, the Vaseline ones look so cute.... Have you tried EOS lipbalm. I love them.

I'm always tempted to pick up the vaseline tins, cuz I have the tub but I get sick of the lack of fragrance.. you know what's also amazing, ELF's Therapeutic Conditioning Balm. It's the only thing that actually gets rid of my chapped lips, and I have chapped lips all year round! (It SUCKS.) It's less of a balm, and more of a thing you put on to go to bed.. it's quite white so it'd be weird to wear during the day :)

I've tried so many of these and completely agree! I love the smell of the aloe vera one too, there's just something about it! I always have dry lips to, and seem to have about 5 products on the go at any one time! xo

i put vaseline on my lips every day before i do my makeup.. my lips still get dry throughout the day, so i'm always applying some sort of balm or chapstick.

I like vaseline alot but sometimes they don't work on my lips. Recently I fell in love with the ELF lip glosses. They work wonders for my dry lips.

xx

So many on here I must try... but Vaseline lip therapy still remains my number 1 :) xx

I can't find those lip therapy tins anywhere. Do you know if they sell them in Canada at all? I use straight plain vaseline on my lips but would love to try the cute little tins.

I swear by eos Lip Balm. My favorite ones are Lemon Drop and Honeysuckle Honeydew. They smell deliscious and are super moisturizing.

I did make a post saying that I heard the LUSH lip scrub was nice, but I read that on your blog! Haha.

I'm really interested in the little Vaseline tubs, I had no idea they made stuff for lips! Thanks for the blog, very good to know!

I find vaseline is great at the start but after a few hours my lips are drier than before! I love Chap Ice! makes your lips all cool and tingly and the texture is nice and not runny :)

Sometimes I wonder if using all these lipbalms actually causes the skin to produce less oil to keep itself moisturized. My lips always feel parched if I don't put anything on them. I recently switched to an all organic brand, and it's gotten a bit better, but I still suffer from chapped lips all year round :(

I have that Burt's Bees balm in that EXACT flavor and it is by far my most favorite lip balm ever. I've bought 3 - very affordable at $2.99 each, check your local drug store!!!

Thanks for all you lovely comments! Oh and the recommendation too!! Greatly appreciated cos I’m always on the lookout for fab new beauty products

Angelys I haven’t tried the EOS balms but I’ve heard great things about them! No idea where to get them cos they aren’t sold here in the UK :(

MakeYuUp I’ve been planning on placing an ELF order sometime soon (I always just make one big order as I like getting to get the free delivery when I spend over £30) so I shall get the Therapeutic Conditioning Balm asap

FunnyFaceBeauty I’ve no idea if you can get the little Vaseline tins in Canada but you can definitely order them from ebay and a lot of the sellers will deliver anywhere. I love the original Vaseline too but there’s just something nice about the pretty tins and I love the Rose one because it gives a nice sheer pink tint to the lips

Barb I’ve never even heard of Jack Black Intense Therapy Lip Balm but I’ve added it to my shopping list so shall be looking for it online!

The Peach I only bought it because it was on offer for about £1.75 so I figured it would be worth a try. Now that I know how good it is I’d happily pay a small fortune for it :)

Jess I shall keep an eye out for the review! Seems like Simple are starting to make a product for pretty much every beauty concern... even came across an eye conditioning balm a while back

dazzlelight91 after you mentioned Chap Ice on the Burts Bees post I ordered it online – still waiting for it to arrive – hopefully it’ll be so good I’ll have to rearrange my favourite lip products

Stacey I’ve been meaning to pick up the Palmers lip products pretty much every single time I call into Boots but I always forget :( If it’s even half as good as their body butter I’ll absolutely love it

Rinny I’ve kinda wondered the same thing myself but it’s catch-22; if I try not to use anything on my lips to see if they start to keep themselves moisturised they end up really dry and sore – I can never leave it long before I slather some lip balm on them!

RiZZiE I shall have a nosy at your blog this evening ♥

thanks Schumitza! gonna have a nosy at your review to see what you reckon - my lips have been particularly dry and horrible over the last few days so I'd be happy to get my hands on something awesome :)

If you are making any choice with regard to organic lip balm, Bees Wax is the only viable choice. Its completely natural, organic and not some by product from other industries like Petroleum Jelly.
I would NEVER use Vasaline.
